Antalya Bilim University hosted Undersecretary Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan from the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology in the panel which took place in the conference hall of ABU. Among the participants of the panel were Rector of ABU Prof. Dr. İsmail Yüksek, President of the Organized Industrial Zone Ali Bahar, and people from several industrial enterprises.
“Universities are Home to Science”
The opening speech was given by ABU Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Yüksek. Rector Yüksek said that universities were home to science, and science was essential for development. He also added: “In the past, academic publications were only made for one’s career. However, now it is time to publish for the purpose of production. We will get good results only through cooperation among science, industry and universities.”
Cooperation among Universities, the Public Sector and Industry
Undersecretary Prof. Dr. Ersan Aslan from the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology said that he defined the cooperation among universities, the public sector and industry as the holy triangle, which has the welfare society in the middle. He also stated that universities always have to cooperate with the industry, and it was essential that students receive practical education in the relevant sector. He added that students should go and visit companies to see the realities in the industrial sectors with their professors even if it was only for having a cup of tea. Mr. Aslan concluded by saying that within this university, public sector and industry triangle, the public institutions must cooperate with the universities to find the easiest way to perform their duties.
