She was born in Çaykara / Trabzon. She completed the elementary school (1969-74), the secondary school (1974-77) and high school (1977-80). She completed her undergraduate education at the Karadeniz Technical University, Department of Architecture between 1980-84, she got the M. Arch. Degree between 1984-87 and the PhD Degree between 1987-1992. She was appointed as a Research Assistant in 1985-1992, Assistant Professor in 1993-1999, Associate Professor in 1999-2005 and Professor in 2005 at the same university. She is one of the founders of the Department of Interior Architecture at KTU and had been actively teaching in this department for about 10 years (as well as the Department of Architecture) since the founding of this department. Between 2000-2003, she worked as a consultant in Gümüşhane Governorship for restoration, planning and construction. Between October 2004 and January 2012, she was appointed as Rector Consultant for Architectural Projects at Karadeniz Technical University. Between 2003 and 2011, she worked as a member and chairman of the Trabzon Cultural and Natural Heritage Preservation Board. Between February 2009 and January 2012, she worked as the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Head of the Department of Architecture simultaneously. She retired in March 2015 and founded the Interior Architecture Department, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Nuh Naci Yazgan University and worked as the Dean and faculty member. She has been working in Antalya Bilim University, Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, Department of Architecture since May 2018 and she has been working as Dean. She is married and has 2 children.
