Mehdi Sosar completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences. He received his master's degree from the Department of International Relations at Sakarya University, Institute of Social Sciences, in 2025.

He possesses advanced proficiency in English and Persian, and intermediate proficiency in Arabic and Spanish. His research interests include Quantitative Data Analysis, Computational Social Sciences, Middle East Politics, Democratization and Modernism in the Middle East, Iranian Political History, Iranian Domestic Politics, and Turkey-Iran Relations.
