Mesut ERTANHAN graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1994 and obtained his undergraduate degree. Following his graduation, he completed his internship as a lawyer in Ankara. In 1998, he completed his Master's degree in Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences in the field of ‘Civil Trial Law and Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law’, and in 2004, he completed his PhD in Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences in the field of ‘Civil Trial Law and Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law’. Between 1998-2018, he worked as Chief Inspector, Head of Support Services Department, Secretary General and Head of Education Department for a long time in TRT General Directorate. In the meantime, he represented TRT as a member of the board of directors in the European Broadcasting Union Education (EBU Academy) Academy and as the Head of the Education Department in the Mediterranean Countries Broadcasting Association (COPEAM). As of 2019, he started to work as a lecturer at ABU Vocational School of Justice.
