Dr. Seda Meral completed her undergraduate education in the Department of Architecture at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Architecture in 2011. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Anadolu University Faculty of Economics. After working as an architect in the industry for a short period, she began her master's degree at Yıldız Technical University, graduating in 2015 with her thesis titled 'Spatial Analysis of Prison Structures and Their Re-evaluation in This Context.' Subsequently, she began her PhD in Architectural Design at Istanbul Technical University and completed her doctorate in 2024 with her thesis titled 'Coexistence: An Ethnographic Exploration of Socio-cultural Expansion of Behavior Settings in a Family Apartment Building.'
Between 2014 and 2021, she worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Interior Architecture at Istanbul Arel University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, where she assisted in numerous courses and served in various administrative roles. After living in Dubai for about a year, she moved to Antalya. As of 2026, she began teaching at the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Antalya Bilim University Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture. Additionally, she provides architectural design consultancy to the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Türkiye.
