Antalya Science University Joins Erasmus Plus Project for Digital Mentorship in Rural Areas
Antalya Science University has become a strategic partner in the Erasmus Plus project titled "Digital mentoring for young people with disabilities in rural areas: Improving skills for an independent living; Improving my future-DIGIT2ME" This initiative aims to assist young people living in rural areas with disabilities to lead independent lives through a digital mentorship program. The collaboration kicked off with an opening meeting hosted by FAMS COCEMFE in Seville, Spain, from January 23 to 26, 2024. Funded by the Spanish National Agency, the project seeks to enrich the lives of disabled youth by enhancing their digital skills and aims to create more inclusive communities across Europe.
In addition to Antalya Science University, the project includes partners from several European countries. These include OZARA STORITVENO IN INVALIDSKO PODJETJE DOO from Slovenia, Ländliche Erwachsenenbildung Thüringen e.V. from Germany, Consorzio Cooperative Sociali GLOBAL MED CARE from Italy, Viesoji Istaiga Baltijos Edukaciniu Technologiju Institutas from Lithuania, and Fundació Support-Girona from Spain. This extensive collaboration highlights the project's supported budget of 400,000 euros, aiming to provide an effective and sustainable mentorship program for the youth. This strategic partnership is considered an important step towards creating positive change in the lives of disabled youth and helping them find their place in the digital world. Assist. Dr. Melike Çetin from the Economics Department will manage the project, which will last for 36 months, as the Coordinator for Turkey.
