8th ELT Conference
The 8th English Language Teaching (ELT) Conference, hosted by Antalya Bilim University, took place at Ramada Plaza Hotel to address the latest developments and innovations in education. Bringing academics, teachers and education experts together, the conference addressed the role of effective methods and technology in English language teaching.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Aktan, the Vice Rector of Antalya Bilim University, who delivered the opening speech, reminded the significance of the conference by emphasizing the changes and transformations in education. Following the opening speech, the speakers took the stage.
Throughout the event, three different speakers addressed various topics in education in their presentations given in English. Firstly, Sharon Barrett provided insights on strategies for improving communication skills in her speech titled, "Effective Communication for Maximum Talk."
Then, Dr. Murat Kaplan highlighted the importance of non-verbal communication in the learning process and provided practical hints in his speech titled, "Understanding Non-Verbals for a Better Learning."
Finally, Dr. Mustafa Polat addressed the potential of AI-supported tools in language learning process in his speech titled, "Innovations in Language Education: Harnessing the Power of Generative AI Tools."
At the end of the conference, National Geographic, UES, Oxford University Press, Macmillan Education and Cambridge University Press were acknowledged for their contributions. Dr. Murat Kaplan, the Director of the School of Foreign Languages at Antalya Bilim University, concluded the event by announcing that the conferences would continue in the coming years. The participants stated that they were looking forward to learning about future education trends and developments.
