Political Science and International Relations Students Visit Döşemealtı District Governorate
Students from our Faculty's Political Science and International Relations Department paid an institutional visit to the Döşemealtı District Governorate on October 26, 2026, as part of the Administrative Structure of Turkey course. Hosted by Döşemealtı District Governor Mr. Ünal Çakıcı, the visit provided our students with the opportunity to observe Turkey's civil administration system and the functioning of district management firsthand.
During the visit, the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of the district governor's office, the organization of the central administration at the district level, and the coordination processes among public institutions were discussed. Additionally, evaluations were made regarding the district administration's relationships with judicial authorities, local governments, and other public institutions, its limits of authority and duties, and the roles it plays in local development processes. Our students gained valuable insights into the practical functioning of public administration by asking their questions directly to District Governor Mr. Çakıcı.
Contributing to the reinforcement of theoretical knowledge through field experience, the visit offered our students the chance to closely examine the institutional structure and decision-making processes of public administration. We would like to thank Döşemealtı District Governor Mr. Ünal Çakıcı for dedicating his time to our students, his gracious hosting, and for sharing his valuable insights.
