Biography

Asst. Prof. Dr. Gizem Sarısoy-Aksüt completed her undergraduate education in the Department of Psychology at Middle East Technical University in 2009. She received her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Hacettepe University in 2012 and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Middle East Technical University in 2017. She has been a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Antalya Bilim University since 2019. Dr. Sarısoy-Aksüt’s research interests include emotion regulation, interpersonal emotion regulation, regulation of positive emotions, posttraumatic stress, and posttraumatic growth. She has published articles in national and international journals on clinical psychology, parenting, supervision, emotion regulation, and psychological health. As part of her theoretical and clinical orientation, she continues to receive training in Existential and Gestalt approaches. Dr. Sarısoy-Aksüt teaches undergraduate- and graduate-level courses, including Clinical Psychology, Theories of Personality, Ethical Principles in Psychology, Clinical Assessment, and Interviewing Skills. She also supervises numerous master’s theses. Since 2019, she has served as Vice Chair of the Department of Psychology at Antalya Bilim University. Since 2025, she has also served as the Director of the Clinical Psychology Research and Application Center.
