Biography
Dr. Demet Kara graduated from the Department of Psychology at Bilkent University in 2011. She received her master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Koç University in 2014 and completed her PhD at Middle East Technical University in 2021. During the 2019–2020 academic year, she conducted research at Emory University as a Fulbright Scholar. Following the completion of her PhD, she carried out postdoctoral research at Aarhus University for one year with the support of a TÜBİTAK fellowship. Her research interests include autobiographical memory, the functions of memory, memories within the context of interpersonal relationships, and the effects of parenting behaviors on development. She has been a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Antalya Bilim University since 2023.
