Director’s Message
Dear Researchers,
The Research and Application Center for Comparative Legal Studies was founded to make comparative legal studies, of which has been increasing importance since the late nineteenth century, in both public and private law. Today’s legal world is so to say a Kelsenian world. In the researches at our center we aim to prioritize the studies which go beyond the narrow and status quoist borders of the legal world. Achieving this specific goal requires an interdisciplinary approach between law and ‘social sciences and humanities’, such as political science, sociology, history, philosophy, literature etc. We believe that by establishing an interdisciplinary approach regarding these variety of disciplines will on the one hand lead to epistemological and methodological plurality while on the other hand enriching the content of legal ontology. It is of utmost importance for our center to study and analyze justice oriented legal applications in different countries in a world of empty norms and formalism. We have a strong belief and commitment to a legal world valuing equality, genuine liberty, justice centered approaches, a non-exploitative and non-dominative legal world away from today’s eurocentrism, ethnocentrism, masculinism, sexism, exploitation and domination. We wholeheartedly believe that such a legal world is possible to be created, and accordingly waiting for your participation in the studies at our center.
