Prof. Dr. Mehmet AKTAN

Professor Aktan completed his undergraduate education at Boğaziçi University, Department of Industrial Engineering in 1995. He received his master's and doctoral degrees in industrial engineering from The University of Iowa in 1997 and The University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003, respectively. In 2004, he conducted postdoctoral research at Penn State University as a member of an NSF project.

He worked as a faculty member at Atatürk University, Department of Industrial Engineering, and held administrative positions such as Head of Department and Vice Dean between years 2003 and 2013. He worked as the Head of Industrial Engineering Department at Necmettin Erbakan University between years 2013 and 2024.

Professor Aktan's research interests are productivity, quality improvement, statistical methods and financial engineering. He is the author of many scientific articles and books in his research areas. He worked as an academic consultant at Konya Model Factory, and as a mentor in the Innopark SMEMentor BIGG+ program, related with productivity and competitiveness improvement activities of SMEs.
