Demet Kara graduated from the Department of Psychology at Bilkent University in 2011. She completed her master's degree in Developmental Psychology at Koç University in 2014. She obtained her PhD from Middle East Technical University in 2021. During the 2019-2020 academic year, she conducted academic studies at Emory University with a Fulbright Scholarship. After graduation, she conducted postdoctoral research at Aarhus University for a year with a scholarship from TÜBİTAK. Her research interests include autobiographical memory, relationship memories, the functions of memory, as well as the effects of parenting behavior on development. She has been working as a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Antalya Bilim University since 2023.
