Suleyman was born in Antalya, Turkey, in 1989, graduated from Antalya Metin-Nuran Cakallikli Anatolian High School, received his bachelor's degree in 2012 from the Department of Mathematics at Nigde Omer Halisdemir University,  and the master's degree from Nevsehir Haci Bektas Veli University in Applied Mathematics in 2014 with the courses from the Department of Engineering Sciences at the Middle East Technical University. In 2014, he was accepted to the doctoral program in Scientific Computing at the Institute of Applied Mathematics at the Middle East Technical University. In the same year, he received the pedagogical formation certificate for teaching high school mathematics from Akdeniz University. He received his Ph.D. degree with the thesis entitled “Stabilized Finite Element Simulations of Multispecies Hypersonic Flows in Thermochemical Nonequilibrium" in 2022. With the same thesis title, he was invited for conducting his doctoral studies in 2017 by Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and in 2018 by California Institute of Technology (Caltech).

Between 2014 and 2017, Suleyman worked as a research assistant in the Department of Economics at Antalya Bilim University. He has been serving as a Lecturer in the departments of Computer Programming and Business Administration since early 2018. He is currently a post-doctoral visiting researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Rice University, and his current research focuses on advanced flow simulations.
