Yıldız Erdoğanoğlu was born in 1975 in Germany. She completed her primary education in Germany and her secondary education in Mersin, Turkey. She graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, in 1998 and began her professional career as a physiotherapist at the Yeni Doğuş Physical and Cognitive Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children. In December 2000, she started working at Hacettepe University Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In September 2006, she completed her master’s thesis titled "Investigation of Health-Related Quality of Life in Children with Cerebral Palsy and Their Families," thus obtaining her Master of Science degree. That same year, she commenced her doctoral studies.
In 2006, she worked for three months at the Asklepios Clinic Weserbergland (Clinic for Neurological, Orthopedic, and Geriatric Rehabilitation and Therapy Center for Neuromuscular Diseases) in Höxter, Hanover, Germany, and at the Evangelical Hospital Holzminden, Hanover, Germany, as part of the Leonardo da Vinci internship program. In 2009, she attended a gait analysis training program organized by the European Society of Movement Analysis for Adults and Children (ESMAC) in London, subsequently joining the team responsible for establishing the 3D Gait and Motion Analysis Laboratory at Hacettepe University’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
In 2011, she completed her doctoral thesis titled "Investigation of the Effectiveness of Training Transversus Abdominus and Multifidus Muscles in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Applications for Patients with Low Back Pain," earning her PhD degree. In April 2012, she began working as a faculty member at Okan University, School of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. During 2014-2015, she served as a faculty member at Istanbul Biruni University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and also held the position of Head of the Occupational Therapy Department. Between 2015 and 2021, she worked as a faculty member in the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Üsküdar University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, where she also served as the Department Chair and Chair of the Thesis-Based Master's Program in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation from 2020 to 2021.
Throughout her academic career, she has supervised 12 postgraduate theses. She was awarded the title of Associate Professor on January 13, 2021, and currently continues her work at Antalya Bilim University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is actively involved in outdoor sports.
She is a member of the Turkish Physiotherapists Association.
