The mission of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department is to guarantee high quality in academic and professional education and graduate competent individuals in the international arena. As a leader in the region, our department has a vision of creating a stimulant environment to encourage independent thinking, decision making, collaboration and interdisciplinary work. The Electrical and Electronics Engineering program covers a broad spectrum of topics from five major areas; namely, electromagnetics and photonics, microelectronics/MEMS, power systems, control system, signal processing and telecommunications. Theoretical education is supported and accompained by research in our circuit, micro-electro-mechanical (MEMS), telecommunications, photonics and computer laboratories. Our students are encouraged to participate in the projects of the faculty and contribute to the scientific and technological developments. In addition to working in these research projects, mostly funded by TUBITAK and the European Union, students also have the chance of being a part of other international cooparative efforts, such as the ERASMUS exchange program.
Following their graduation, our electrical and electronics engineers have the opportunity of being employed in worldwide academic institutions and industries working on topics, such as application specific integrated circuit design, embedded systems design and implementation, optical systems, radars and antennas, signal processing, smart systems, telecommunication, medical electronics and imagining systems, automatic control systems, robotics, cybersecurity, machine learning and data science, power electronics and remote sensing.
