Antalya Bilim University (ABU) and the Antalya Governor’s Office have signed a cooperation protocol to provide Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Commercial Pilot Training for public personnel. The signing ceremony, held at the Antalya Governor’s Office, was attended by the Governor of Antalya, Hulusi Şahin; ABU Rector, Prof. Dr. Semih Ekercin; Provincial Director of Press and Public Relations, Ramazan Kızılkaya; and Director of the ABU Continuing Education Center, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dağlar Ekşi.
The protocol aims to enhance the professional competencies of public sector employees in UAV operations and to enable them to obtain certification approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The training programs, to be delivered by the ABU Continuing Education Center, will focus on the safe and regulation-compliant operation of UAV-1 class aircraft.
During the ceremony, Governor Hulusi Şahin drew attention to the increasing use of UAVs in public services and stated that the program aims to ensure the effective and safe use of drone technology by public personnel in their respective fields.
ABU Rector Prof. Dr. Semih Ekercin emphasized the university’s commitment to initiatives that serve the public interest and described the cooperation as an important step toward future technology-oriented projects.
Participants who successfully complete the training program will be entitled to receive a DGCA-approved UAV Commercial Pilot Certificate.
