Academic Promotion and Gowning Ceremony Held at the Vocational School of Health Services
The Academic Promotion and Gowning Ceremony organized by the Vocational School of Health Services at our University was held on April 8, 2026, at the University Conference Hall. Celebrating academic dedication, scholarly development, and professional advancement, the ceremony was held with strong attendance and hosted by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Semih EKERCİN. Yusuf HACISÜLEYMAN, Chairman of the Board of ATSO, also attended the program.
The ceremony was organized to celebrate the academic promotions of our faculty members and to mark this significant milestone in their academic journey. The program featured an opening speech, a musical performance, a protocol segment, and the gowning ceremony.
In her opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Bikem SÜZEN, Director of the Vocational School of Health Services, emphasized that the academic journey is not merely a progression defined by titles, but a multidimensional process shaped by scholarly production, personal development, dedication, and responsibility. She noted that academic advancement often involves challenging turning points, where one may feel caught between saying “enough” and choosing to continue. Prof. Dr. SÜZEN underlined that this journey requires great commitment both academically and personally, and stated that the efforts of academics, who carry multiple responsibilities simultaneously, contribute not only to individual achievement but also significantly to institutional development.
During the ceremony, the academic gowns of our faculty members who had received promotions were also presented. In this context, Prof. Dr. Hasan ÖZDOĞAN, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre ÖZ, Asst. Prof. Dr. Şevket BAŞARIR, Asst. Prof. Dr. Filiz ÖZCAN GÜREL, Asst. Prof. Dr. Menekşe CENGİZ, Asst. Prof. Dr. Gencay SEVİM, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lale YACAN, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehmet KARAGÜLLE, Asst. Prof. Dr. Alp CESUR, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yasemin TURGUT, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hanife ERTÜRK were officially promoted and robed.
Hosted by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Semih EKERCİN, this meaningful ceremony served as an occasion to highlight academic achievements at our University, strengthen institutional belonging, and once again emphasize the importance of quality in higher education.
