A system titled “A System Capable of Displaying the Seismic Performance of Buildings in Three Dimensions,” invented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hamid Farrokh Ghatte, a faculty member of Antalya Bilim University (ABU), has been officially registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT) and granted a national patent certificate.
The system enables the three-dimensional visualization of buildings’ behavior during seismic events and allows multiple critical parameters to be monitored simultaneously on a single integrated interface. Through a user-friendly dashboard, it provides real-time data on the performance levels of structural components, potential damage distribution, and high-risk zones. The system is designed to support scientific data production for structural strengthening decisions, the development of urban risk maps, and comprehensive pre-disaster preparedness planning.
The research conducted at ABU stands out for offering decision-makers in the field of earthquake engineering a fast, transparent, and data-driven evaluation tool. The official patent registration once again underscores the university’s strong research ecosystem and its commitment to innovation-driven projects with significant societal impact.
