Antalya Bilim University participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2024-2025 held at the Presidential Complex with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Our university was represented by the Rector Prof. Dr. Semih Ekercin, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Emine Şen Tunç, the Rector’s Advisor Dr. İsmail Bülent Süzer, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Behram Tuncel, and the students of ABU.
Antalya Bilim University took its place in the opening ceremony along with the representatives from many universities across Turkey. The ceremony started with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by a promotional movie on the Turkish higher education system and the speeches of President Erdoğan and the President of CoHE (YÖK) Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar.
President Erdoğan emphasized in his speech that universities are one of the most important pillars of the bridge between the past and the future. Erdoğan underscored the significance of universities in the process by stating that, “The burden of all who we have lost to terror, drugs, alcohol addiction, perverted trends and criminal groups falls upon all of us. We want to address these issues more decisively and achieve desired results by taking the necessary steps in the upcoming period. During this process, we expect to receive support from our universities and all of you.”
After the ceremony, the academic staff and students of Antalya Bilim University enjoyed the excitement of the new academic year and reaffirmed their commitment to contributing to the development of higher education in Turkey.
