Our university, as a strategic partner in the Erasmus Plus Strategic Partnership projects, continues its efforts under the DIGIT2ME project to equip young people with disabilities living in rural areas with independent living skills and support their social inclusion through digital mentoring. In this context, the 2nd Transnational Project Coordination Meeting, held on November 12, 2024, in Weimar, Germany, marked a significant step towards strengthening the project's goals and enhancing collaboration processes. The meeting, hosted by Ländliche Erwachsenenbildung Thüringen e.V. (LEB), was attended Dr. Melike Çetin from the Department of Economics at Antalya Bilim University, along with project partners from OZARA Storitveno in Invalidsko Podjetje DOO (Slovenia), Consorzio Cooperative Sociali Global Med Care (Italy), Fundació Support-Girona (Spain), and Viesoji Istaiga Baltijos Edukaciniu Technologiju Institutas (Lithuania).
The meeting agenda included discussions among the project partners on updating the digital mentoring curriculum and reviewing implementation plans. Additionally, topics such as the development of the open-access digital education platform, one of the project's key outputs, and the initiation of pilot applications were addressed. The partnership contributed to the evaluation of the project's strategic objectives and the arrangement of work plans, fostering productive collaboration. Strategies for disseminating the project's outputs at an international level were also discussed during this significant meeting.
The DIGIT2ME project aims to support young people with disabilities in finding their place in the digital world and continues to expand its impact through such international collaborations. The next project activity is scheduled to take place in Girona, Spain, in April 2025.
