Antalya Bilim University (ABU) carried out a comprehensive health screening program to emphasize the vital importance of early detection in women’s health and to strengthen access to preventive healthcare services. Within the scope of the “Early Diagnosis Project,” 49 female staff members from Cleaning and Cafeteria Services participated in the program.
The project was conducted at the Döşemealtı Healthy Life Center with the support of Döşemealtı District Governor Ünal Çakıcı and District Health Director Spec. Dr. Ahu Sarı. Planned and implemented through the initiatives of Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Bikem Süzen, Director of the Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO), the program included the following screenings:
* Mammography
* Cervical cancer screening
* Clinical breast examination
* Colorectal cancer screening
In addition to the screenings, participants were informed about healthy nutrition, the importance of regular check-ups, and risk factors.
Evaluating the project, Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Bikem Süzen stated: “Women’s health is an area where neglect carries a heavy cost, yet when prioritized, it protects life. Our goal was to ensure that our colleagues could easily access screening services and to make the life-saving power of early detection more visible”.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the Döşemealtı District Governorship, the Döşemealtı District Health Directorate, and the team at the Döşemealtı Healthy Life Center for their contributions to this study.
