Senate Members Meet the Kitchen at the Menemen Workshop

The Senate Members of our university came together at the Menemen Workshop, organized by the Faculty of Tourism, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, along with the participation of our Rector.

As part of the workshop, the participants were asked to prepare two different types of menemen – Çakallı menemen and menemen with onions – in 30 minutes. The time-bound event fostered a dynamic atmosphere emphasizing teamwork and culinary practice.

The participants received hands-on training on areas such as pan techniques, essential culinary terminology, the subtleties of kitchen preparation (mise en place), hygiene standards, knife skills and safety. The event highlighted the importance of using proper techniques, work discipline and safety, blending educational content with an enjoyable experience.

Further complemented by the participation of our Rector, the workshop allowed our Senate Members to witness culinary arts firsthand, standing out as a strong example of hands-on educational approach embraced by the Faculty of Tourism.
