The graduates of Antalya Bilim University School of Civil Aviation, who successfully completed their academic studies, took a meaningful step into their professional careers at the graduation ceremony held in their honor. Bringing together our graduates, their families, and our academic staff, the ceremony became a meaningful occasion where dedication, pride, gratitude, and a strong sense of belonging were shared by all.
The ceremony commenced with the opening and welcome address, followed by a moment of silence held in honor of our martyrs and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem. The program continued with a speech delivered by the Director of the School of Civil Aviation, Üner BEKÖZ, who addressed both our graduates and their families.
In his speech, Mr. BEKÖZ emphasized that the education provided at the School of Civil Aviation extends far beyond professional knowledge. He stated that, in addition to preparing students for their future careers, the School strives to instill the discipline, sense of responsibility, team spirit, and professional attitude that the aviation profession demands.
Mr. BEKÖZ further noted that the students had never been regarded merely as learners but had been considered an integral part of a larger team from their very first day at the School. He emphasized that this bond would continue long after graduation, adding that although the graduates were embarking on a new chapter in their lives, they would always remain valued members of the School of Civil Aviation family.
During his address, Mr. BEKÖZ also highlighted the School’s distinctive approach to graduation. He explained that the School does not follow the traditional concept of ranking graduates according to academic standing. Instead, he emphasized that the greatest share of every student’s success belongs to the parents, who have stood by their children throughout four years of dedication, challenges, perseverance, and hard work. He noted that each diploma is therefore dedicated not only to the graduates themselves but also to the unwavering support, patience, and sacrifices of their families.
As part of the ceremony, the faculty members and staff of the School of Civil Aviation were introduced individually and acknowledged with applause in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the educational journey of our students. On behalf of the graduates and the entire School community, the President of the Student Council delivered a speech highlighting the shared experiences, solidarity, and spirit of achieving success together that had defined their years at the University.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Semih EKERCİN, also addressed the graduates, emphasizing that civil aviation is a profession requiring exceptional responsibility, dedication, and discipline. He stated that, through the education they had received, the graduates had acquired not only professional knowledge and skills but also the responsibility of representing their profession with distinction. He concluded his remarks by extending his best wishes for their future success.
During the program, the graduates presented their traditional gift to our Rector, Prof. Dr. Semih EKERCİN. This was followed by the traditional salutation ceremony of the School of Civil Aviation graduates. Symbolizing unity, discipline, and a strong sense of belonging, this distinctive tradition was met with great interest by all attendees.
The ceremony concluded with an emotional farewell to our graduates. As Antalya Bilim University, we take great pride in sending off the graduates of our School of Civil Aviation with their professional competence, team spirit, strong sense of institutional belonging, and the unwavering support of their families as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. We wish all our graduates every success in their future endeavors.
