Mustafa Ilker Beyaz received his B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 2005. He started his graduate studies at the MEMS Sensors and Actuators Laboratory at the University of Maryland (UMD), College Park, USA, and earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees on the development of micromotors and microgenerators in 2008 and 2011, respectively. He joined the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Antalya Bilim University, Antalya, Turkey as an Assistant Professor in 2011, where he leads research activities in the field of MEMS (micro electro mechanical systems). His research interests lie primarily in the design and development of microsystems for power conversion and energy harvesting, development of biological sensors and actuators, and the application of nanostructured materials to MEMS devices. Dr. Beyaz is a member of the IEEE society, holder of two doctoral awards at UMD, and has been serving on the technical program committee of Power MEMS and IEEE Sensors conferences. He is also serving as a peer reviewer for major MEMS journals.
