Economics

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the development of world economic history from ancient times to the dawn of the Industrial Revolution. The course aims to examine the historical development of economic processes and institutions, changes in production, distribution, and consumption patterns, and the economic experiences of different civilizations and regions within their historical context. It also seeks to help students evaluate Western Europe, the Islamic world, the Ottoman Empire, and other non-Western economies from a comparative perspective and analyze the historical dynamics that prepared the emergence of the modern economy.
