The V. INTPOLSEC International Security Studies Congress was held in Antalya on April 29-30, 2026, organized by Akdeniz Üniversitesi, Antalya Akademik Araştırmalar Derneği and Association of International Politics and Security Studies. In this Congress, where multidimensional topics such as regional security, digital hegemony, migration and security, and climate and environmental security were discussed, our Department of Political Science and International Relations faculty members made significant contributions with their presentations.
Within the panel entitled "Contemporary Issues in Security Studies (Antalya Bilim University Panel)", faculty members of our Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nermin Aydemir and Assist. Prof. Dr. İhsan Ercan Sadi presented their paper titled "Reconstruction as Return Management: Turkey's State-Led Repatriation of Syrian Immigrants". Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gözde Turan presented her study titled "The (In)visible Truth and Justice in Gaza Today: How International Law (Fails to) Respond to (Dis) Information, Framing and Fragmentation of Hostage Crisis". Finally, Prof. Dr. Cerem Cenker-Özek, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Didem Çakmaklı İşler, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Toygar Halistoprak also participated in the Congress with their collaborative study titled "The Resilience of Good Citizenship Norms in the Age of Populism: A Comparison of Russia, the UK and Germany".
