Program Educational Objectives
It is aimed that graduates of the ABU Department of Civil Engineering acquire the following qualifications within the first few years after completing their undergraduate education:
PEO1: They can effectively take part in national and international projects in different subfields of civil engineering such as structural, geotechnical, transportation, hydraulic, and environmental infrastructure systems by using engineering knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
PEO2: By observing professional ethics, sustainability, and safety principles, they can develop engineering solutions sensitive to societal needs and undertake responsibilities in public institutions, the private sector, or as independent engineers.
PEO3: With teamwork, communication, and leadership skills, they can take an active role in the planning, management, and implementation of projects in collaboration with experts from different disciplines.
PEO4: By following rapidly changing engineering technologies and effectively using digital transformation and innovative design tools, they continuously improve their professional competence.
PEO5: With an awareness of lifelong academic and professional learning, they keep their knowledge and skills up to date through graduate education, in-service courses, or certification programs.
Program Outcomes (Competencies)
PO1: Defines and solves complex engineering problems by using mathematics, informatics, natural sciences, basic engineering, and field knowledge.
PO2: Defines complex engineering problems through scientific approaches, analyzes cause-and-effect relationships, and evaluates them in order to develop sustainable solutions.
