Programme Outcomes of Department of Tourism Management
1. To have comprehensive and systematic knowledge of concepts, theories, principles and facts related to tourism management.
2. Apply knowledge of business administration (finance-accounting, human resources management, marketing, research and development, etc.) and management (organisation, planning, coordination, motivation, controlling) to tourism sector.
3. Recognise the stakeholders in the tourism sector (tourists, hotels, restaurants, agencies, tour operators, suppliers, competitors, etc.), understand and adapt to the relationship between these stakeholders, sectoral dynamics and developments.
4. To be able to communicate effectively by mastering written and oral communication tools, to be able to create the necessary presentations / posters / reports etc. outputs, to be able to express himself/herself in at least two different languages.
5. Recognises different cultures; knows the touristic values and cultural heritage elements in the world and in Turkey.
6. Follows technological (computer software, automation systems and information technologies) and professional developments related to tourism management, adapts the changes to the business and increases knowledge, skills and competences according to these developments.
7. Makes team work within the business, develops cooperation with the stakeholders of the business and has knowledge and awareness in the dimensions of the business that affect the society (economic, social, environmental, cultural).
8. Demonstrates the necessary sensitivity by being sensitive to the private life of the guests, personal safety, cultural differences and the environment by having professional ethics and professional responsibility awareness.
9. To have the knowledge and ability of scientific research in the field of tourism management and to analyse the service production processes of tourism enterprises by using applicable research methods, to identify possible problems, to design alternative solutions and to plan, implement and supervise solutions.
10. Follows the legislation (laws, regulations, circulars, etc.), basic values and principles related to the profession and acts in accordance with them; has sufficient knowledge and awareness about occupational safety, occupational health, social security rights, quality control and management, protection of the natural environment and sustainability.
11. Identify the source of current problems in the tourism sector with critical thinking and develop creative and innovative solutions to possible problems that may be encountered individually or as a team.
12. Being aware of the need for lifelong learning and development, they can access the necessary resources, interpret the information obtained from the sources and evaluate the information obtained by basic quantitative and qualitative methods.
