Within the framework of this course, firstly, what law is as a whole is introduced in terms of its functions. Thus, the indispensability of law in social life is emphasized in terms of its meaning in terms of order, meeting social needs and especially justice. In this way, the differences between law and similar concepts such as morality and custom are revealed. Then, the characteristics of the various sciences that will investigate law and the relations of legal sciences with practice are explained.

In this course, after a brief introduction to the political structure of the Roman Empire; the foundations, history and sources of Roman Law and Corpus Iuris Civilis will be emphasized. In addition, the effects of Roman procedural law on the concepts of Civil Procedural Law and the reflections of Roman Property Law concepts in Modern law will be given. The concept of debt in Roman law, its nature, the subject of debt rights, the impossibility of performance, the birth of debt, the Roman system of contracts and their types, contract similarities, debts arising from tort, the transfer and termination of debt rights in Roman law (performance, release, exchange) The points reached in the field of Roman Law of Obligations and the comparison with the Turkish-Swiss Law of Obligations system will be given.

HIST 101 Atatürk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution I
In this course, the history of the Turkish War of Independence, foreign relations of Atatürk's period, national sovereignty and Atatürk's principles and revolutions are explained. In this context, especially the reflections of the political changes and nationalism movements that developed with the French Revolution on the last years of the Ottoman Empire and the discussions on the struggles of ideas that emerged in the multi-party constitutional system in the Ottoman Empire before the years of the National Struggle; the new political environment that developed with the establishment of the Republic and the problems experienced here; the problems experienced in the process of institutionalization of the dynamic, progressive and Western civilization-oriented state structure put forward by Atatürk's principles and their reflections in today's Turkey are examined.

Within the scope of this course, Ottoman-Turkish constitutional developments and the freedoms regime envisaged by the current constitution and the constitutional system in the perspective of the concepts learned in the General Principles of Constitutional Law course are explained. In particular, the historical development of Turkish Constitutional Law (Constitutions of 1876, 1921, 1924 and 1961) and the basic principles of the 1982 Constitution, the organization of the legislative, executive and judicial organs and the relations between them, extraordinary administrative procedures and other institutions regulated in the Constitution and the establishment and functioning of the Constitutional Court will be discussed.

HUK 106 History of Turkish Law
In this course, in general, the social, economic, cultural or geographical influences under which the legal rules in force in the past were formed, which needs these rules emerged to meet, what kind of interactions between political and social developments and the legal order are discussed. In addition, the historical development of legal institutions and rules is explained by comparing them with different legal systems. This course is mainly analyzed under two main headings: - The period after the proclamation of Tanzimat (a mixed period in which Western law and Islamic law dominated together, which started with the declaration of the Sened-i İttifak and the Tanzimat), the period after the proclamation of the Republic (a modern period in which Western law and principles were adopted with the proclamation of the Republic).

In this course, the concept of administration is defined and the elements and characteristics of Turkish administrative organization are emphasized. The control mechanisms to which the administration is subject and the administrative judicial procedure are introduced to the students through practical studies. For this purpose, the course covers the administrative jurisdiction authorities, the time limits for filing a lawsuit in administrative jurisdiction, the classification of the courts to be applied in administrative jurisdiction according to the nature of the administrative act, the duties and jurisdiction of these courts, as well as the types of cases in administrative jurisdiction, the implementation of court decisions, the principles of responsibility and the ordinary and extraordinary remedies.

HUK 313 Philosophy of Law
The main topic of this course is "justice". The philosophical conceptualization of this term will reveal that justice is a demand and injustice is a fact. We will then compare and contrast how this concept is treated by various currents in the philosophy of law. From Aristotle's 'distributive' justice to Bentham's 'utilitarian' justice, from Kant's understanding of justice based on 'respect for human beings' to Rawls' concept of 'fairness', the concept of justice is discussed and analyzed. Finally, the extent to which those living today can be responsible for the injustices committed in the past is discussed by giving examples.

In the Maritime Law course, the basic concepts of Maritime Law such as ship, captain are examined. The responsibility of the shipowner and the shipowner is explained. Freight contracts are analyzed. The place and definition of charterparties within charterparties are examined, with particular emphasis on ship allocation contracts. First of all, while mentioning ship allocation contracts, the place of charterparties within ship allocation contracts is determined and defined comparatively. The types of charterparties, their unique features and common features are examined. Within the scope of the course, the concepts such as carrier, shipper, shipowner, owner, charterer in charter contracts are filled in and the legal responsibilities of these persons are mentioned. HUK 402 Philosophy of Society
In Western universities, the subjects of "society/state/political philosophy" are often taught together. The aim of the course is to explain these three huge subjects and problem areas in the most appropriate way to the final year law students. Following the examples of "utopia" in Western thought in Plato, Morus and Campanella, the "utopian socialist" (Fourier, Saint-Simon) and "socialist" (Marx, Engels) thinkers of the 19th century are analyzed. The main ideas of Auguste Comte, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber, the founders of sociology, are discussed. The 20th century evolutionist and conflictualist theories of society as well as the views of Ibn Khaldun and Ziya Gökalp from the Islamic world are analyzed. Finally, the "Westernization" and "modernization" adventure of the Republic of Turkey is examined from the perspective of philosophy of society.
