2025 Müfredatı için Stajlar Hakkında
You are required to complete one mandatory internship as part of the 2025 curriculum. Also, you can do a second internship voluntarily, and it will be counted as an AE 1000 Area Elective course (after you enrol in the course CS 4000 Internship II).
- The internship must last a minimum of 20 working days.
- We'll be using a web-based system called IFS Internship Follow-up System (Staj Bilgi Sistemi - SBS) to track your internships.
Due to this, there are some steps you need to follow to complete your internship. These steps are described below:
Fill the Computer Engineering Internship Approval Form (Bilgisayar Mühendisliği Staj Onay Formu), which is available through this link (make sure you get approval from your advisor in the company and ensure that the start and end dates are correct; also, please pay attention to national and religious holidays when you are arranging internship dates). You need to exclude these holidays. Totally, you need to do your internship for at least 20 working days.) Tip: You can Google and use “İş Günü Hesaplama” websites.
Send an email to your academic advisor where you attach the filled and signed Internship Approval Form.
Once your advisor confirms the form, please send this form to Res. Asst. Anıl Kayan. Anıl will enter these into the IFS system.
You need to enrol in CS 3000 Internship I or CS 4000 Internship II (voluntary) in the semester (fall or spring) immediately following your internship. Under the new 2025 curriculum, the internship course is technically scheduled for the 6th semester. Therefore, if you do your internship in the summer of your second year (after the 4th semester), you must ask your advisor to take this course from the upper semester to add it to your schedule."
You need to write a report and upload it to the IFS system during the following semester (best case, during the internship). The deadline for reports will be announced separately. Do not write a summary of what you have done. You must provide details of your work for each day during your internship. Support them with pictures, screenshots, and code snippets when necessary. You have time to enter your report until the company advisor evaluates your internship, but we strongly suggest that you enter your report during the internship.
A sample of a one-day report:
“On the fourth day of the second week of my internship, I tested my image upload method in the morning. Although I encountered some small errors, I handled them and saved the files in my local project folder. I made some observations about my methods that I might need to change in the future, such as the file renaming logic. If I send two image files at the same time, they are assigned the same timestamp for the filename (e.g., image2_220.JPG and imageDE_19.JPG). This could be a problem in the future if a user sends two files with the same name. Since I used Postman to send requests, I entered the product ID manually; however, this will change on the client side, where the user will add images or files after choosing the product.
After that, I wrote the "remove images" method. Actually, I didn’t delete the images from the database; I just changed the status to false. So, I added a status property to my file class and then added a migration. I tested my method, and it worked; it simply changed the image file status to false.
Then, I decided to complete the backend methods before moving on to the client phase. So, I started with the product controller and wrote the update product method. This allows the user to update the name, price, and description of the product if the given ID matches a product ID. I continued writing using the MediatR command and handled requests in the controller. After finishing the code, I tested it with Postman and saw that the changes were successful.
I also added the delete method using commands and requests, and then I tested it. Again, I am not deleting the product, just changing the status to false. Then I wrote update and delete methods for categories too and tested them with Postman.
After finishing the backend side, I opened a client project with Angular. I added the libraries that I needed for this stage. I started with a common component, the navbar, as I want this component to be visible on every page. I thought about how I should design it and started coding. I designed my common component to include login and register buttons. Then, I opened my home component and added my navbar to the top of the page. I will fill in the rest tomorrow."
Once you're done with your internship, your advisor in the company must enter the IFS system to evaluate your internship. The credentials to enter the IFS system will be sent automatically to the company advisor when you submit the Internship Approval Form. If the company advisor didn’t receive it, please inform Anıl to send it again.
University approvals will be done at the end of the next semester. Despite this, I suggest completing your internship report and obtaining approval from your company advisor (through IFS) as soon as your internship ends.
FAQ:
1. What is the timeline for submitting the internship approval form?
There must be at least a 2-week gap between the internship start date and the submission of the form. This allows the university sufficient time to initiate your insurance (SGK), including for international internships.
As long as you follow the gap rule and FAQ 9, you can submit your approval form anytime you want (there is no deadline for submitting the approval form).
2. How do I access the Internship Follow-Up System (IFS) for the first time?
If you encounter difficulties accessing IFS, it's likely because you don't have an account yet. Accounts are created upon submission of the Internship Approval Form. Your User ID and Password are initially set as your student number. You can change your password after logging into the system.
3. Are there language requirements for internship reports?
Yes, all internship reports must be written in English.
4. Can I complete my internships remotely?
Currently, remote internships are allowed.
5. Can I intern at the same company for both internships?
Yes, it's possible to intern at the same company for both, but they must be in different departments or focus areas (e.g., frontend, backend, mobile programming). However, gaining experience at different companies offers diverse perspectives. Note that separate "Staj Onay Formu" submissions are required for each internship.
6. When can I expect to receive confirmation of my internship application?
If your advisor approves your application, you'll receive an automatic email with internship details a few days after form submission. If you don't receive this email, there may be missing information in your application or another issue. Please contact us via email for assistance.
7. How should I submit my internship application?
We only accept submissions via email; physical submissions are not accepted.
8. What are the eligibility criteria for starting internships as a regular student or an irregular student?
You can do your mandatory internship after completing successfully 90 ECTS.
9. When can I do my internship?
Internships can only be completed during the summer term and between two semesters (if sufficient time is available). In short, you cannot undertake internships concurrently with courses; there can only be a maximum of a 1-week overlap between the start of the term and the internship.
10. Can I do additional internships voluntarily after completing my two internships(CS 3000,CS 4000)?
Yes, even after completing your two internships, you can voluntarily undertake additional internships. Simply indicate in your application email that this will be a voluntary internship. Since it is voluntary, it is not considered a required internship and you can concurrently do your voluntary internship during the semester. The university will cover SGK insurance.
11. Can I do an internship longer than my mandatory 20 working days? If yes, will the university cover my insurance?
Yes and yes. Note that if you plan to combine your Mandatory Internship (CS 3000) and Voluntary Internship (CS 4000) into a single 40-day period at one company, you must prepare two separate 'Staj Onay Formu' submissions (one for each course)”.
12. When and how can I get my SGK employment entry document (SGK işe giriş belgesi)?
All insurance-related procedures are handled by the University's Human Resources department. Your insurance entry is processed by the university at the latest one day before your internship start date. You can access and download the PDF document via E-Devlet one day before your internship starts by visiting this link. Please check specifically for the entry made under "Antalya Bilim Üniversitesi. "Please contact Human Resources for any issues related to insurance.
13. How do I get my internship approved by the institution?
The IFS entry information should automatically be sent by IFS once it is entered into the system and your internship is completed. They should log in to IFS with this information and approve your internship (make sure to check the spam folder). First, ask the institution official to approve your internship. If the entry information was not sent, you can contact Anıl to resend it.
14. My internship is 40 working days, and the first 20 days are over, and I have written the internship report for the first 20 days. Do I need to write the internship report for the other 20 days?
Yes.
15. My internship ends next week. Are there any documents I need to have signed or anything I need to do before it ends?
After completing your internship report, the only thing you need to do is have the company officials log into IFS and approve your internship.
16. Is there a deadline for finding an internship placement?
No, there is no strict deadline for arranging your internship. You can find your internship place during the summer break.
17. Can I complete my internship at any organization related to computers, such as a computer repair shop or an internet installation service?
No, activities such as computer repair or internet installation fall outside the scope of our program and are generally considered technician-level work. Therefore, such placements are not suitable for the internship. Acceptable institutions include IT departments of a company, software development companies, or scientific research organizations, provided that the work is relevant to your academic background and involves meaningful technical experience.
18. Is it mandatory to have a computer engineer at the company where I will do my internship?
No, there is no official requirement stating that a computer engineer must be employed at the company. However, having a computer engineer or a professional from a related technical field as your company advisor is highly recommended.
Note: If your internship start date is more than one month away, you will not be able to see your internship on the student screen in IFS. Please note that you will start seeing your internship on the IFS screen when there is less than one month remaining. Kindly check it at that time.
