Students are responsible for continuing the courses, lab studies and applications in line with the principles set by the Faculty of Health Sciences and participate in all types of exams and other studies deemed necessary by lecturers.

The success of a student in a course is determined based on the results of the homework, projects, workshops, field studies, applications, lab studies, seminars, quizzes, midterm and similar semester studies, and the final exam whose contributions to the final grade are announced by the relevant lecturer at the beginning of each semester.

Assessment tools for a course in a semester/academic year consist of a midterm, homework, project, lab studies, applications and other studies. It is compulsory to hold at least one midterm exam for a course in a semester/academic year, except for internship, semester project, dissertation, thesis, seminar course and other courses. Each assessment tool (midterm, homework, project, lab work, application and other studies) for a semester/academic year is graded out of 100. For the grading of these assessment tools, an assessment method is not used, or a letter grade is not assigned. The letter grade is only assigned when all assessment tools are graded including the midterm/final exam. The rate of the contribution of midterm, homework, application and other studies that students are responsible for to the final grade is stated in the syllabus. These rates are used as a basis in the assessment of the relevant course. The contribution of the midterm(s) included in the assessment of the semester/academic year to the final grade must be at least 20%. The final exams held at the end of the semester and at the end of the academic year are graded out of 100 points. Their contribution to the final grade is 60%, and students must obtain at least 45 out of 100 points from the final exam.

The academic efficiency of students is determined at the end of each semester by calculating the grade averages. The grade average for the end of the semester is calculated by dividing the total ECTS credits obtained by a student from all courses taken in the relevant semester by the total ECTS credits of the courses that are taken. Grade point average (GPA) is calculated by dividing the total ECTS credits obtained by a student from all courses registered in all semesters by the total ECTS credits of the courses that are taken. In cases where the student repeats some courses, the latest grade obtained from the relevant courses are included in the general point average instead of the previous grades; however, all of the grades obtained by the student are shown on the academic transcript. The grade point average for both semesters and academic years is calculated with two digits after comma; if the third digit after the comma is 5 or more, the grade is rounded upwards, and if the relevant digit is 4 and below, the grade is rounded downwards. At the end of the summer period, the grade point average is calculated again by taking into consideration the grades obtained by students from the courses that they have registered in the summer school.
