TURAM and AKVAÇAM Joint Event
Through an informative presentation delivered by Dr. Çağla Çavuşoğlu McKenzie, our students had the opportunity to become closely acquainted with the concept of Gastrodiplomacy. In her talk, Dr. McKenzie elaborated on how gastronomy plays a pivotal role in international relations well beyond the realms of culinary preparation or dining culture. Highlighting the potential of food to build bridges between people and break down prejudices, she explained how culinary heritage can be effectively deployed as an instrument of soft power on a global scale.
