The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design aims to develop and utilize functional, aesthetic, sustainable and authentic designs that response to the needs of users by combining a human-oriented approach and by taking advantage of advanced technology. By transcending the boundaries of interiors in terms of creating living spaces, the department ensures that the design of spatial elements is combined with indoor and outdoor design. Another area in which the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design focuses on is the ability to work with architects and other experts in environmental planning.
 

The medium of instruction in the four-year undergraduate program at ABU is English. The department provides education to produce versatile and skilled designers on an international level. Graduates are sensitive to the environment and have up-to-date knowledge and skills. The international nature of the university means that both the training provided and the research carried out in the department are at a level that is internationally competitive. In addition, the international structure of the department not only facilitates analysis and development, but also allows access to information. The department provides vocational discipline at both regional and international levels.

The mission of our Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design is to cultivate individuals with a solution-oriented mindset, technological proficiency, and a commitment to effective communication. Through the inculcation of critical thinking, global and social awareness, sustainability principles, and professional ethical values, we aim to foster an innovative approach among students in alignment with the overarching goals of our university.

 

Our department is dedicated to advancing a vision of vocational education characterized by a rigorous emphasis on discipline and user health. The pursuit of national and international recognition is central to our objectives, achieved through the comprehensive integration of holistic knowledge among students. Furthermore, we actively promote exploratory, collaborative, and experiential learning as essential components of our educational philosophy.”
