Students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Antalya Bilim University conducted a significant technical excursion under the leadership of Lecturer Gamze AKYOL as part of the IAED 3353 Conservation and Conversation in Interior Space course. The trip focused on the conservation and adaptive reuse of industrial heritage, providing students with the opportunity to observe theoretical knowledge in practice.
The Battery Factory Technical Trip was organized to examine the processes of adapting historical buildings for contemporary use. Within this scope, students gained in-depth knowledge of architectural conservation, sustainable design, and interior interventions in historic buildings. During the visit, both environmental and functional aspects of transforming spaces were discussed, along with innovative solutions for preserving cultural heritage.
This event aimed to raise students' awareness of historic preservation and the adaptive reuse of interior spaces in alignment with modern needs. The technical excursion provided a valuable experience where theoretical course content was reinforced through practical observations.
