Design-Based Entrepreneurship
On April 22, 2025, the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Antalya Bilim University hosted a workshop entitled “Design-Based Entrepreneurship,” conducted under the coordination of Dr. Gizem ÖZER ÖZGÜR. The event was organized with the participation of students enrolled in two studio courses: IAED 3001 Interior Design Studio V, instructed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Enes Can KILIÇ, and IAED 3358 Exhibition Stand Design, instructed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Yaren ŞEKERCİ. Throughout the workshop, students were given the opportunity to enhance their design-oriented thinking skills, generate creative ideas, and develop solution proposals within the scope of the entrepreneurship concept.
During the event, each student group was allocated 15 minutes to work on a specific problem definition. Within this time frame, the groups analyzed the given issues and developed innovative solutions. They then visualized their ideas using sticky notes, sketches, and various graphic materials, eventually transforming them into colorful posters. These posters were presented through group presentations, in which each team explained how they approached the problem and what creative strategies they employed in the solution process. This activity enabled students to improve both their critical thinking and effective presentation skills.
Under the guidance of Dr. Gizem ÖZER ÖZGÜR, this workshop provided a productive platform for students to adopt an entrepreneurial perspective within the design process, to produce creative and strategic solutions, and to effectively present their ideas through collaborative work. The high level of active student participation contributed to the hands-on nature of the workshop, offering valuable experience in applying theoretical knowledge in practice.
