On October 31, 2024, as part of the IAED 2103 Presentation Techniques course conducted by Asst. Prof. Enes Can KILIÇ, Graphic Designer Gül YAVUZ delivered a presentation. The discussion focused on how to alter user perception and methods for influencing users. In this context, the fundamental elements that interior architecture students should pay attention to while making presentations were addressed. The importance of visual communication elements, such as the use of letters and graphic language in designing perception, was emphasized. Specifically, information was provided on how to design presentation boards for interior architecture projects. Students explored ways to effectively express the ideas they developed during the design process and the reasoning behind those ideas.
In an interactive section of the presentation, the impact of the environments students have experienced and observed on their perceptions was discussed. Students shared their experiences and debated the factors that should be considered in the design of spaces. During this process, strategies for changing and arranging perceptions were talked about. The effects of elements such as color, lighting, material selection, and layout on user perception were evaluated through examples. Additionally, individual experiences of participants were enriched by group discussions, allowing for the sharing of diverse perspectives and experiences.
At the end of the presentation, students' questions were answered, providing clarity on topics of interest. While teaching interior architecture students ways to influence user perception, comprehensive information was also provided on effective presentation techniques and visual communication strategies.
In this context, we sincerely thank Ms. Gül YAVUZ for her participation and the valuable insights she shared with us during her presentation.
