Moodboard Workshop for Kitchens
On February 13, 2025, an important event was organized to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design students. Conducted within the scope of the IAED 3002 Interior Design Studio VI course by Asst.Prof. Dr. Yaren ŞEKERCİ, Lecturer Gamze AKYOL, and Research Assistant Müge DEVELİER, the workshop welcomed Seranit, one of the leading brands in the industry.
During the event, Technical Training Consultant Ömeri Faruk ATAER and Deputy Manager of Architectural Communication Tuba ÖRS provided a detailed discussion on the role of ceramic materials in design processes and introduced their application areas to students.
In the first part of the workshop, experts from Seranit delivered a comprehensive presentation on the properties, uses, and integration of ceramic materials in design. The presentation highlighted the durability, aesthetic versatility, and sustainability advantages of ceramics. Students gained practical knowledge on how these materials can be used in kitchens, bathrooms, and other interior spaces.
Following the presentation, students and guests collaborated to create different moodboard examples for kitchens. This exercise allowed students to explore color, texture, material, and style harmony, fostering creative design solutions. Additionally, sample materials provided by the guests helped students develop their material knowledge and examine application details closely.
One of the main objectives of the event was to guide students in preparing a detailed material board as part of their coursework. The insights from Seranit’s experts and the sample materials contributed significantly to students’ ability to make informed material selections.
Beyond technical knowledge, the workshop also provided students with practical experience in professional practices. Key topics such as the importance of material selection in design, analyzing client needs, and presentation techniques were discussed, helping students prepare for real-world project scenarios.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Technical Training Consultant Ömeri Faruk ATAER and Deputy Manager of Architectural Communication Tuba ÖRS for their valuable insights and contributions.
