Under the scope of the IAED 3002 Interior Design Studio VI course, students designed sensory integration wall panels as a warm-up project specifically for individuals with special education needs, focusing on those with autism spectrum disorder. The panels were crafted to support the sensory processing skills of individuals, providing different sensory experiences. Working individually or in groups, students aimed to enhance users' sensory perception, targeting senses such as touch, sight, and hearing. Drawing inspiration from the past event titled "Making Life Easier with Senses in Autism," led by Physiotherapist Ayşen Kılınçer Çopur, the students worked consciously and attentively throughout the design process. Using various materials, including fabrics with tactile variations, foams, boards, and felt, they developed creative solutions.

The panels were generously donated to the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Special Education School and Rehabilitation Center located in Döşemealtı. During their visit to the center, students shared their work with the school's students and teachers. The donated panels were accepted for use in the school's sensory rooms. Students, during their visit, gained insights into the practices, programs, and workshops conducted at the center. Consequently, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all students, faculty members, and Physiotherapist Ayşen Kılınçer Çopur for their contributions to the project. Additionally, we express our sincere gratitude to the esteemed administrators and teachers of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Special Education School and Rehabilitation Center for accepting and supporting the project.
