Within the scope of the IAED 4102 Interior Architectural Project Management course, conducted by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture of Antalya Bilim University, under the coordination of Asst. Prof. Dr. Başak KARADUMAN and accompanied by Res. Asst. Müge DEVELİER, events bringing students together with industry professionals are consistently being organized. In this context, Food & Industrial Kitchen Business Consultant Arian FARAVAR, a Food & Industrial Kitchen Business Consultant who has an electrical and electronics engineering background and over 12 years of experience in the sector, currently serving as a director and commercial consultant in his own firm, was hosted as a guest speaker. During the event, the speaker sheds light on post-graduation career alternatives for interior architecture students by sharing his entrepreneurial processes, legal and financial requirements, customer relationship management, and the fundamental dynamics of establishing a successful business model. Emphasizing the importance of a designer transforming into a value-creating professional rather than solely a project producer, this gathering directly supports the core learning outcomes of the course. Through the event, students gain practical knowledge on business development and project management elements such as budgeting, invoicing, and scheduling, as well as service tools including contract documents and technical specifications. Furthermore, by discussing professional ethics, related regulations, and the impact of regional and global markets on design practices, the seminar ensures that students become aware of technologically based collaboration methods for built environment disciplines. The event, which also includes crucial advice on the common mistakes and challenges young professionals might face when stepping into the sector, is enriched by an interactive Q&A session, offering a highly productive learning environment regarding the entrepreneurial and consulting dimensions of the profession. As the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, we extend our deepest gratitude to Food & Industrial Kitchen Business Consultant Mr. Arian FARAVAR for sharing his valuable knowledge and experiences with our students.
