Within the scope of the IAED 2204 History of Furniture Design course, conducted by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture of Antalya Bilim University, under the coordination of Lec. Dr. Gamze AKYOL, a technical trip to Saloni Antalya has been organized, providing students with the opportunity to explore contemporary production processes and advanced manufacturing techniques on-site. During this visit, students closely examine award-winning furniture designs, gaining valuable insights into how innovative concepts are transformed into high-quality products. Planned in accordance with the main objectives of the course, this event creates a strong awareness regarding the existence of different furniture design styles and trends, while ensuring a concrete understanding of the cultural and aesthetic effects in furniture design through contemporary examples. By examining professional practices in the field, students acquire comprehensive knowledge about past trends and approaches in furniture design, material knowledge, and production techniques. Reinforcing how the components of movements and styles and the use of concepts in projects are shaped within the context of the history of furniture through practical examples, this trip offers an inspiring and enjoyable learning environment.
