Within the scope of the IAED 4102 Interior Architectural Project Management course, conducted by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture of Antalya Bilim University, under the coordination of Asst. Prof. Dr. Başak KARADUMAN and accompanied by Res. Asst. Müge DEVELİER, events bringing students together with diverse sector practices are continuously being organized. Accordingly, Interior Architect Talya TEZİŞ and Interior Department Coordinator Ülker BOZDOĞAN, working at the internationally operating yacht and shipbuilding company DAMEN, were hosted as guest speakers. During the event, the position of interior architecture in the yachting sector and project management steps ranging from the concept stage to the production process are discussed, ensuring that students gain comprehensive knowledge in scheduling, budgeting, and service tools. While examining the technical constraints and production processes in yacht interior design—which differ significantly from land structures—the critical importance of communication established with naval architecture, mechanical, and electrical teams is emphasized, thereby creating a strong awareness regarding technologically based collaboration methods for built environment disciplines. By evaluating the impact of global markets on design practices through the processes of an international firm, the steps for young professionals to enter the sector are concretized within the framework of job applications, portfolio preparation, and professional ethics. As the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Antalya Bilim University, we extend our deepest gratitude to DAMEN Interior Architect Ms. Talya TEZİŞ and Interior Department Coordinator Ms. Ülker BOZDOĞAN for sharing their valuable experiences and vision in the yachting sector with our students.
