Within the scope of the IAED 3108 course, conducted by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture of Antalya Bilim University, under the coordination of Lec. Dr. Gamze AKYOL and accompanied by Student Assistant Selen YAĞCI, a technical site visit to the former Village municipality building located in Döşemealtı has been organized. During the visit, the structure was examined on-site; by taking detailed measurements, material characteristics were documented, and existing deterioration conditions were identified, thereby ensuring that students reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical applications. While a comprehensive spatial and interior analysis of the building is carried out together with the students based on the collected data, in-depth evaluations are made on the role of geographical, historical, socio-cultural, ideological, political, economic, and religious variables that form the space. Through this technical visit, where it is emphasized that design is inherently a social and cultural activity, students gain a strong awareness of different interior architecture styles and currents, learn specific terminology and fine details on-site, and develop their abilities to recognize and separate different interior architecture styles from one another. As the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Antalya Bilim University, we extend our deepest gratitude to Lec. Dr. Ms. Gamze AKYOL and Student Assistant Ms. Selen YAĞCI for their efforts in this productive technical visit that brings theoretical knowledge to the field by examining the historical texture, as well as to all our students who enriched the process with their active participation.
